Our lives changed in August 2013 when I listened to my first Dave Ramsey cd.  At that point, we as a family were doing a lot of things right but several things wrong.  One of the worst offenders was not disciplining ourselves to live on a monthly budget.  Our house was already paid for and we weren't as bad off as as many, but still had $38,000 in debt with our two car loans!  Dave's process made sense to me and I put it to work the first day!  For the first time, we were living on a monthly budget.  This one change allowed us to make double, triple and then quadruple payments on the car loans using Dave's debt snowball.  There was even a few months when I was laid off from my job and we still saved.  17 months from when we started, we paid the final car payment and were DEBT FREE!  DEBT FREE!  DEBT FREE, AT LAST!

 

What I've learned throughout this journey is that if it worked for us, it will work for you too!  After only 60 days, I was a believer and signed up to lead my first Financial Peace University (FPU) class.  Since October 2013, I've had the honor of leading many, many people in getting out of debt and learning to live a different style of life--one with less stress and new possibilities!

Dave Ramsey says, "People love being around people who love what they do.  Find your gift, find your joy, then pour gas on it and light it!"  That is what I chose to do.  In early 2019, I left the comfort of my job in the hi-tech industry to dedicate more time to helping people who need and want help.  Now I spend most of my week helping folks who need  a little motivation, perhaps a different perspective, and of course...lots of encouragement!
